Core Subject Tutor Job Responsibilities

ResponsibilityDescription
Delivering Tutoring SessionsProvide small-group or one-to-one tutoring sessions in English, Maths, and/or Science for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
Planning and Delivering LessonsPlan and deliver structured and engaging lessons that are tailored to meet individual pupils’ learning needs and address learning gaps.
Collaboration with TeachersWork closely with classroom teachers to identify students who require additional support and to track their progress effectively.
Building Student RelationshipsDevelop strong and positive relationships with students to foster their confidence and improve their academic attainment.
Contributing to Intervention StrategiesParticipate in whole-school intervention strategies and contribute to enrichment programmes aimed at supporting student learning.

RequirementDetails
Educational BackgroundA recent UK degree in English, Maths, Science, or a related subject is essential.
Subject KnowledgeStrong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and learning within your specialist subject area(s).
Experience (Desirable)Experience working with secondary-aged pupils in an educational setting is desirable but not always essential.
