Cook Job Responsibilities

As a Cook, you will be responsible for:

Responsibility	Description
Meal Preparation	Cook nutritious, fresh meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs.
Menu Planning	Create weekly menus, factoring in preferences and health requirements.
Stock Management	Order and manage stock within budgetary limits.
Collaboration	Work with healthcare professionals to align meals with care plans.
Quality Assurance	Maintain kitchen quality systems and hygiene standards.
Team Supervision	Oversee and guide other kitchen staff members.
Safety Compliance	Follow Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and COSHH regulations.
Resident Engagement	Participate in activities and encourage independence, dignity, and respect.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Requirement	Details
Experience	Minimum 2 years in catering and 12 months in kitchen management.
Qualification	NVQ Level 2 in Catering & Hospitality.
Skills	Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Knowledge	Understanding of large-scale cooking, hygiene, and dietary needs.
Extras	Experience in a care home environment is desirable.
